WAA– Sabtu 11/07/2009, ACEH - Caritas Czech Republic and Caritas Europa secretariat actively contributed to the conference on the effectiveness of Civil Society Organisation (CSOs) in development, co-organised by FoRS, the Czech platform of development NGOs, and CONCORD, the European confederation of development NGOs. Conference took place in Prague from 23rd till 24th June.
Caritas Czech Republic presented two case studies of their projects in the area of rural livelihood development in Indonesia and Georgia and gender in Indonesia, which provided evidence-based analysis of CSO role and effectiveness.
These case studies form part of FoRS publication on the Czech contribution to the global process of the Open Forum on CSO development effectiveness. ( as an attachment find the case study on Caritas Czech Republic rural livelihood program in Indonesia and Georgia )
Caritas Europa fed in Caritas interest in supporting the Open Forum and CONCORD work in this field.
The conference gathered more than 150 representatives of various sectors of the civil society as well as representatives of donors and the Czech government.
The Conference participants adopted a statement highlighting their commitment to further explore different aspects of CSO development effectiveness with the aim to strengthen the added-value of CSOs and development effectiveness.
